Role: Team Member - Electrical Maintenance

Division: VEPT

Function: VEPT - Manufacturing - Maintenance Assembly

Reporting into:  Area Manager Maintenance

Level: Deputy Manager

Purpose of the Role

The position exists in order to execute electrical maintenance activities for breakdown, preventive and predictive maintenance in the shift with the objective of improving the availability of the equipment, driving improvements for cost efficiency and Safety. Carrying out root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective action within the limits of VPS way of working. Strict adherence to safe working processes. Good knowledge of MTTR, MTBF, Spare Parts Planning, consumables like oil, coolant, etc is desirable. Driving the culture of continuous improvement through Kaizens etc.

  • Max- BE Electrical/Electronics
  • Min- Electrical/Electronics


  • 3 to 5 Years in Manufacturing Industry. (Electrical Maintenance experience preferred)

Business Understanding

  • Requires good knowledge of mechanical aspects of machines/stations.
  • Daily line losses, root cause, and corrective action.
  • Knowledge and ability of execution of preventive, time-based and predictive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of MTTR, MTBF, Safety, VPS way of working.
  • Contribute to improvements leading to cost savings and Kaizens.
  • Interaction with service providers and team members. Imparting training to team members.

Area of Responsibility


Improvement in OLE by improvement in machine uptime, root cause analysis for breakdown and corrective action & preventive action implementation. Preventive maintenance adherence and driving effectiveness of preventive maintenance. Spare parts planning and monitoring.In order to improve OLE by improvement in machine uptime.




Planning and Monitoring to improve Spare parts consumption. Consumable cost.Power cost.In order to increase the profitability by controlling cost at different levels.


Root Cause Analysis and Drive Improvement

The regular root causes analysis with the team and implements the permanent corrective measures through various improvement projects, enforcing proper use of maintenance tools. In order to identify the root causes and solve them through problem-solving techniques.



Lost time incident.First aid cases.Near miss situation.Identification of unsafe conditions and unsafe acts. Driving Behavior-based Safety Initiative. In order to create a safe working environment for our people also targeting Zero manhour loss.


People Management

Identify the competency gaps and facilitating the competence development of the team. Administration of performance management process.Engaging & retaining talent.Driving Values & VGAS action plans. Making hiring decisions for any requirement on line. In order to create an efficient and competent workforce and develop them.
